Warner Bros and Dynamite Comics have announced that they're making a comic series based on beloved properties such as Thundercats and The Powerpuff Girls.

The announcement came in a press release obtained by ComicBook.com and announced that several WB properties would get comic book adaptations from Dynamite. The properties confirmed so far include ThunderCats, The Flintstones, The Powerpuff Girls, Space Ghost, Jonny Quest, The Wizard of Oz, and We Bare Bears. However, it was stated that more were coming.

Thundercats...HO!!!!!

In a statement about the new partnership, Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher, said "Warner Bros. has been at the heart of entertainment in America and across the world for an incredible hundred years, and home to so many beloved stories and franchises. We're incredibly excited to bring many of them with the biggest and most passionate fanbases back to comics or for the first time, as we work with WBD and wonderful creators to bring all-new stories to the fans!"

The first comic to be released will be the Thundercats series, which will launch in February and be written by Declan Shalvey and drawn by Drew Moss. The beloved series from the 80s has had multiple comic book adaptations over the years, including crossovers with other universes, including DC Comics, and even clashing with He-Man. Dynamite promises that the comic will dive into the "deep mythos" of the show and give a "refreshing" view of it while still adhering to what came before. For example, the first arc will dive into the world of Third Earth and see what it was like on the planet in its "earliest days."

The team promises that Lion-O will still be the focus, but the other Thundercats will have plenty to do, and they'll need to work together to face the new sci-fi challenges that await them in this "new" Third Earth. Plus, as the cover for the new series highlights, Mumm-Ra The Ever Living will be watching over the Thundercats and attempting to destroy them once and for all. No other teams have been slated for the other series, nor have release windows been given. However, Dynamite did note that not all of the series' adaptations will be monthly comics.

Thundercats #1 from Dynamite will launch in February 2024.
