Branching off with Spectacular Spider-Man in 1968, Marvel began using multiple comic series to tell Spider-Man's story. Both the original comic, The Amazing Spider-Man, and the newer series followed Peter Parker's adventures — each offering a unique glimpse into the young hero's life.

By running multiple comic series a month, Marvel could deliver more Spider-Man content to eager fans and tell several adventures simultaneously. This trend continued over the decades, and soon Marvel created comic series for the Web-Slinger's allies and enemies. From Miles Morales: Spider-Man to Venom, Spidey's fans have tons of excellent comics to look forward to every month.

Current Spider-Man Comics

Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 6) #35 by Zeb Wells, Patrick Gleason, Marcio Menyz, Erick Arciniega, and VC's Joe Caramagna

When Peter Parker was struck by the spear housing all of Norman Osborn's sins, the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man died in an instant. At that moment, a new breed of black-suited Wall-Crawler emerged to terrorize his worst enemies and closest loved ones alike. Not even Mary Jane Watson is safe from what this twisted Spider-Man has planned.

As scary as a vengeful, murderous Spider-Man is on his own, the fact Peter Parker is openly gleeful over the harm he is causing pushes him into outright terrifying territory. Fortunately for Peter and those caught in his path, everyone from the Last Son of Kraven to Norman Osborn and even the Queen Goblin is willing to put their own lives on the line to set things right. Even if they can't, Mary Jane at least has her own set of powers to beat her previous lover into submission with.

Cult of Carnage: Misery #5 by Sabir Pirzada, Francesco Mortarino, Victor Nava, Belardino Brabo, and VC's Joe Sabino

Before she became host to the Misery symbiote, Liz Allan was already waging a secret war against her corporate competitors and personal enemies at the Life Foundation. Now that she is a symbiote superhero for herself, the situation has only gotten more dire, and as much as the return of Lily Hollister might help, it doesn't make things any less complicated.

Apart from having to deal with the fact that her adoptive son's formerly villainous biological mother is back in the picture, Lily's alter-ego as the Queen Cat ramps the tension up even further. If nothing else, Lily's presence gives Liz another edge in the fight against the Life Foundation. Then again, it also means the two will have a host of issues to work out once the dust has settled — assuming they both survive.

Spider-Man: India (Vol. 2) #5 by Nikesh Shukla, Tadam Gyadu, Scott Hanna, Neeraj Menon, and VC's Joe Caramagna

A crowd of people carrying Spider-Man India above their heads

Between losing the support of the people as Spider-Man and making a buffoon of his alter-ego in order to pay the bills, Pavitr Prabhakar's life couldn't be more disappointing. Of course, disappointing would be better than the sheer terror of facing Doctor Kushal B. Kumar, aka the Lizard, not to mention Giricorp's hulking C.E.O. Giri Sahib.

Not only do both villains have Spider-Man square in their sights, they have also joined forces to hunt down Pavitr for entirely different reasons. With the Lizard and Sahib don't know their intended victims are the same, there is no way for Pavitr to fight back as himself without giving away his secret. To make things even more complicated, the continued smear campaign against Spider-Man has effectively given Sahib free rein to wage war on the hero in the open, even if a small but fervent group of supporters are beginning to push back against his propaganda.

Uncanny Spider-Man #1 by Si Spurrier, Lee Garbett, Matt Milla, Tom Muller, Jay Bowen, and VC's Joe Caramagna

nightcrawler leaping through the air in his uncanny spider-man costume

With the Fall of X and Orchis' rise to power as the world's foremost mutant hunting military force, all the citizens of Krakoa who haven't ended up in camps have been forced into the shadows. All, that is, save for Nightcrawler, who has embarked on a brand-new career that could set the stage for the next era of mutant heroes.

Using one of Peter Parker's old costumes, Nightcrawler has taken to hiding in plain sight as the Uncanny Spider-Man. His tail and teleporting might not be indicative of Spider-Man, but his impossible agility and wall-crawling antics make him a prime fit for the part. More importantly, Nightcrawler can fight back against Orchis and begin winning over the hearts and minds of humans everywhere, even if he is far from being able to reveal his true identity with any sense of safety.

Death of the Venomverse #5 by Cullen Bunn, Gerardo Sandoval, Victor Olazaba, Jim Campbell, and VC's Clayton Cowles

Carnage's latest crusade may have begun in an effort to amass as many powers as possible, but it has quickly spiraled into a Multiversal rampage in which every possible iteration of Venom as a target. Now, Carnage has set its sights higher than ever before by taking the fight to a reality in which Knull's invasion of Earth is still well underway.

Of course, all of this is even more reason for the Anne Weying known as Agent Venom to continue leading her team of symbiote superheroes in the fight against Carnage. Unfortunately, the unique circumstances they are facing also means that their best hope of survival is ensuring that the original King in Black doesn't fall. While that may seem like a fair trade on the surface, being on the same side of the fight as Knull is never a good thing.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #10 by Cody Ziglar, Partha Pratim, Federico Sabbatini, Bryan Valenza, and VC's Cory Petit

miles morales being pulled by a web through the streets of nyc by agent gao's resident speedster

Following an explosive, near lethal encounter with the Hobgoblin, the titular hero of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #10 has never needed a day off more than he does now. Miles has also never needed someone to talk so badly, which makes being able to discuss his issues with Dr. Sasquatch all the better. Of course, things can't all be looking up for any version of Spider-Man, especially not one with an entire government agency on his tail.

For all the good he has done and all the accomplishments he has made, Miles Morales' career as Spider-Man is still very much against the law. Agent Gao and her Cape Killers task force have made bringing in Spider-Man their number one priority. Their latest recruit, the speedster Hightail, is ready to prove just how valuable of an asset she can be by attempting to do so single-handedly.

Red Goblin #9 by Alex Paknadel, Chris Campana, Roberto Poggi, David Curiel, and VC's Travis Lanham

red goblin 9 cover full

Normie Osborn and the Rascal symbiote were a perfect fit for one another when they started out bonding over being youthful would-be heroes attempting to overcome their own darkest instincts. At least, that is where things started for the Red Goblin, although recent weeks have seen the bond between Normie and Rascal devolve into a distillation of the absolute worst that each of them has to offer.

The threat previously posed by the remnants of the Goblin Nation was certainly serious, yet its downfall came at the expense of Normie's control as the Red Goblin. Now that Rascal is in the driver's seat, the symbiote can only do its best to save Normie from whatever harm might come his way. Unfortunately, Rascal's alien and infantile nature means that the intricacies and nuances of human emotions are utterly incomprehensible, and that anyone who has ever made Normie feel anything other than pure joy is at risk of being caught in the Red Goblin's sights.

Venom (Vol. 5) #26 by Torunn Grønbekk, Julius Ohta, Frank D'Armata, and VC's Clayton Cowles

Black Widow firing her gun while merging with a symbiote in Venom #26

While Eddie Brock is busy tumbling through time with Doctor Doom, the symbiote superheroes of the Marvel Universe's relative present have been swept up in previously unfathomable problems of their own. For Dylan Brock and the Venom symbiote, this means being constantly on the run from their enemies at the Life Foundation.

For Natasha Romanoff, better known as the Black Widow, this means growing accustomed to the recently birthed offspring of Venom that bonded to her in the aftermath of its progenitor's last epic battle. Although Natasha and the Widow symbiote seem to be bringing out only the best in one another so far, there is no telling how long that relationship with last — especially when there are so many nefarious forces vying to rip them apart.

Spine-Tingling Spider-Man #0 by Saladin Ahmed, Juan Ferreyra, VC's Joe Sabino, and VC's Joe Caramagna

When a dark lullaby worms its way into Peter Parker's head, he thinks it is an unusual, albeit disturbing phenomenon that will eventually sort itself out. When that same lullaby washes over the citizens of New York City, it becomes clear something is terribly wrong, prompting the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to embark upon one of his most terrifying missions yet.

Though the events of Spine-Tingling Spider-Man have been seen before when the series was first published in 2021 as a digital Marvel Infinity Comic, this is the first time that readers have been able to get their hands on a print version of the story. Apart from glimpsing into the darker corners of the titular hero's world, Spine-Tingling Spider-Man puts a whole new spin on the legacy of one of his oldest villains, and it's one that longtime fans will find as apt as it is outright disturbing.

Strange Academy - Amazing Spider-Man #1 by Carlos Hernandez, Vasco Georgiev, Edgar Delgado, and VC's Clayton Cowles

Spider-Man leaping while fighting alongside the Strange Academy

When Doctor Strange first opened his school for the next generation of Masters of the Mystic Arts, there was never any doubt that it would lead to some truly harrowing circumstances. Now, the latest of these has drawn the attention of numerous seemingly unrelated Marvel superheroes, and the latest of them is none other than the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man himself.

Peter Parker may not deal with potentially world ending mystic tomes on a regular basis, but he is more than capable of helping the Sorcerer Supreme's best students when they need it. More importantly, he is willing to put his life on the line to do whatever he can to save, not just the likes of Shaylee and Doyle Dormammu, but Miles Morales as well, who already joined in the fight long before his web-slinging predecessor arrived.

Spider-Man leaping toward the reader on the cover of Superior Spider-Man returns

The saga of the Superior Spider-Man is one of the most infamous that Marvel Comics has produced in the modern era. After Doctor Octopus famously traded places with Peter Parker, the classic villain made a whole new career out of showing his former foe how much better of a Spider-Man he could be.

Of course, Otto's time as Spider-Man came to its end years ago, yet that hasn't stopped his fleeting memories of that time from haunting him incessantly. In fact, it is one particular memory that Otto can't quite hone in on which has driven him to an all new dangerous extreme. Worse still, the fact Otto doesn't truly remember his life as Spider-Man makes the secrets he is about to uncover that much more dangerous, especially when he has no idea what, or who, he will find in the process.
