Adidas revealed a brand-new set of athletic shoes themed after the Advanced Suit and Venom design from Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

The new shoes are a part of a major collaboration between Adidas and Marvel Entertainment, Sony, and Insomniac Games called the Peter Parker Advanced Suit and Venom collection, which also includes several themed athletic products based on the game. The shoes are primarily red with a blue pattern on the toe and black tendrils creeping up from below the sole to depict the Venom symbiote overtaking Peter Parker's Advanced Suit from the game's story.

Other items featured in the collection include Ultraboost J and Ultra 4D Sneakers, Adizero 12.0 football cleats, compression tights and other various athletic wear that will be available for purchase following the release of Spider-Man 2 on Oct. 20. Additionally, players can see many of the items within the game itself, as Insomniac's partnership with Adidas allowed them to feature several garments from the collection on New York citizens in the game.

Though this collaboration serves as the first official line of apparel themed after the game, it is not the first time Insomniac, Sony and Marvel Entertainment have appealed to athletes or fans of competitive sports, as a TV trailer for the game appeared during an NFL match. The studio also worked with action figure company Hot Toys to produce hyper-detailed figures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, including a variant featuring Peter's black symbiote suit. Sony itself released its own PS5 and Dualsense controller bundle featuring faceplates and designs modeled after the game, which sold out almost instantly after release.

Neither Adidas nor Insomniac has revealed what the other items in the Advanced Suit and Venom collection may look like, though they have promised a consistent design scheme based on Peter and Miles' suits in the game. It is unclear whether they will show any more of the products in the collection in the near future, but for now, fans can look forward to an all-new Spider-Man story when Peter Parker and Miles Morales return with all-new abilities and an upgraded New York City to explore later this month.

Members of Adidas' AdiClub membership program can gain advance access to the collection through the company's online store, and certain members of PlayStation Plus will receive promotional emails inviting them to purchase the sneakers ahead of their release. For everyone else, the collection is set to launch the same day as the Spider-Man 2 game on Oct. 20.
