Nia DaCosta's The Marvels is one of the most anticipated premieres of 2023, with fans wanting to know as many details about the making of the movie and its characters as possible, however, the reaction to the new revelation about Captain Marvel's age hasn't exactly been entirely positive.

The Marvels, the long-awaited sequel to Captain Marvel, is finally premiering this November, and Brie Larson is reprising her role as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel for the movie, alongside Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel. The unfortunate promo tour for The Marvels has already started, and the official X (formerly Twitter) account for Marvel India has recently shared a peculiar piece of information regarding the powerful Human-Kree hybrid's age.

Marvel has unveiled that Captain Marvel is actually over 60 years old in human years, although no specifics have been provided. The post includes the pictures of Larson's Captain Marvel, Chris Evans' Captain America, and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier, detailing their ages -- over 100 years old for both Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes -- and their respective projects. The caption reads, "Proof: 'Age is just a number'." While viewers have already known how old Captain America and Winter Soldier are, they seem to be completely baffled by Captain Marvel's age.

There is a common belief that Carol is the same age as the actress who portrays her, which is 28 years old, during the events of Captain Marvel in 1995. That estimation also correlates with Danvers' canon storyline and background, and this would mean that the character was born around 1967. Avengers: Endgame is initially set in 2018, which is when 51-year-old Captain Marvel meets the rest of the Avengers. Later on, there is a five-year time jump to 2023, and that's where the rest of the film takes place, meaning that Carol is now 56 years old.

Some fans believe that Danvers could have been born a few years earlier, in 1965, but that would still make her 58 years old in 2023. The Marvels is going to take place in 2025, so Carol has to be somewhere between 58 and 60 years old, but definitely not older, as Marvel seems to have confirmed, shocking audiences with the math that doesn't add up.

The Marvels, which cost more than $130 million to make, will hit theaters on Nov. 10, 2023.
