A new teaser for The Marvels tells viewers what the plan of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie's villain, Dar-Benn, is.

The teaser begins with Nick Fury getting snapped out of existence in Avengers: Infinity War, which also features a voiceover from Fury saying, "I still believe in heroes." Later, after scenes from both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame play, Dar-Benn herself appears, calling Carol Danvers "The Annihilator" and telling her, "You took everything from me. Now I'm returning the favor." This is later followed by Carol commenting that Dar-Benn is "targeting the people [she] cares about" and "every place [Carol calls] home."

As the teaser starts to come to close, footage of Captain Marvel in action appears, which includes a fight between Carol and Dar-Benn. During these moments, text that reads, "On November 10, her power, her fight, her legacy" pops up. The teaser ends with Fury remarking, "Give [Dar-Benn] hell," before Carol and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel lunge at Dar-Benn while Monica Rambeau/Photon fires an energy beam at her.

Concerning Carol, Monica and Kamala, director Nia DaCosta discussed their sisterhood dynamic, stating that she "thought it would be cool to map an estranged family history and sister story onto them." DaCosta went on to add, "Carol's the oldest, the prodigal, then there’s the middle sister Monica, who Carol knew as a kid and promised she'd come back [to] but then never did. All the switching stuff is great, but the thing I actually care about is how these two reconcile."

"Kamala is the youngest, who hasn't had the experience of living with this older sister but idolizes her," DaCosta concluded. "Carol’s a bit jaded at the beginning of the film [but] Kamala reminds her how amazing she is." Prior to this, Marvel Studios President and CCO Kevin Feige "revealed" that Ms. Marvel would steal the film.

The Marvels Fights Back Against Superhero Fatigue

DaCosta had also talked about how The Marvels does battle with superhero fatigue, explaining, "I think superhero fatigue absolutely exists. The biggest difference from the other MCU movies to date is that [The Marvels is] really wacky, and silly. The worlds we go to in this movie are worlds unlike others you've seen in the MCU. Bright worlds that you haven't seen before."

As for a possible Captain Marvel 3, DaCosta noted that her pitches for such a project to Feige have gotten mixed reactions from him, though the filmmaker still has hope for it.

The Marvels arrives in theaters on Nov. 10.
