The rating for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been made public by the MPA two months before Arthur Curry returns to the silver screen.

Per FilmRatings.com, the King of the Seven Seas' new cinematic outing has a PG-13 rating -- which itself is a typical rating for most DC Extended Universe movies -- for "sci-fi violence and some language." Prior to this, a new synopsis and the first trailer for The Lost Kingdom were released.

In regards to The Lost Kingdom, returning director James Wan discussed the changes he made for it to fit into the new DC Universe, commenting that he made said changes "all along the way." Wan went on to further state, "The DCU has been through lots of different versions, and one of the things that was challenging about this film was keeping track of what's going on. Fortunately, the Aquaman universe is pretty far removed from the rest of the world."

"We're going to many different underwater kingdoms that are not necessarily related to what's happening with the other movies and characters, so we're stand-alone in that respect," the filmmaker concluded. "So I can just tell my story on its own without being affected too much, but at the same time, I have to be mindful of what's been happening."

Wan would subsequently touch upon The Lost Kingdom's standalone nature again in a different interview, saying, "Well, Aquaman -- even the first film -- has always been a very standalone film. That was always our approach: that it kind of lives in its own world, and that's kind of how we've approached The Lost Kingdom as well."

Shifting over to the topic of a hypothetical Aquaman 3, Wan remarked that The Lost Kingdom sets up such a project, which he said should be about developing the characters. Wan said he and his production team have "set up certain things in a good place in the second movie that you can definitely draw upon in a third [film]." On a more sour note, however, a recent rumor claimed that a scene in The Lost Kingdom involving the death of Arthur Curry Jr./Aquababy resulted in the departure of test screening viewers.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters on Dec. 20.
