Of all the masterful horror works by legendary author Stephen King, one of the most downright chilling is his 1983 novel Pet Sematary. A meditation on the loss of loved ones and how far someone will go to end their grief despite all warnings, the successful 2019 cinematic adaptation of the novel has received a prequel with Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. Directed and co-written by Lindsey Anderson Beer, the prequel brings some interesting angles to the classic story and its cursed world but doesn't quite deliver when it comes to executing the requisite scares that come with a Pet Sematary story.
