Terraria has been out since 2011, and over the past twelve years, fans have discovered numerous ways to start their playthroughs. Normally, the world seed that Terraria generates when players start a new world is completely random, meaning everything about the world's design is out of the player's hand. Starting with the 2020 World's End update, though, the option to fully customize worlds with different world seeds was added into Terraria, giving players more control over their starting environment.

Many of Terraria's fan-favorite seeds are known as Secret World Seeds, put in by the developer, that can make all sorts of changes to Terraria's base gameplay format. Some are simple changes, like adding or removing traps, while others drastically alter the world by flipping it upside down or adding new biomes that players wouldn't otherwise find. Popular user-made seeds include starting areas that immediately give players access to incredibly powerful items, or make it easier to blaze through the early game.

9 For The Worthy

Seed: "for the worthy"

For The Worthy seed in Terraria

A secret world seed that's exactly what it sounds like, For The Worthy is an experience best suited for veteran players and those looking for a challenge. The standard difficulty levels are raised by one, and any Master worlds created with the For The Worthy seed will be bumped up to an all-new difficulty called Legendary.

Many typically safe items and animals now have a chance to explode when interacted with, including trees, pots, and bunnies. All of Terraria's bosses undergo heavy AI changes using the For The Worthy seed, which makes each boss harder to deal with by increasing their attack speed or adding a plethora of all-new mechanics.

8 No Traps

Seed: "notraps" or "no traps"

Ironically named and complete with a loading screen that reassures the player that more traps are definitely not being placed, Terraria's No Traps world seed adds significantly more traps than the average world. Like For The Worthy, it's a ruthless experience that isn't recommended for newer players.

In addition to simply placing more traps, many of No Traps' traps are unique to this specific world seed, like TNT barrels and bouncy boulders. Traps spawn in essentially any and every open area available, and many players highly recommend the use of Dangersense potions to navigate this seed.

7 Don't Dig Up

Seed: "don't dig up", "dont dig up" or "dontdigup"

The Don't Dig Up seed from Terraria

Instead of digging from the surface all the way down to the Underworld in classic Terraria fashion, the Don't Dig Up seed spawns players in the Underworld and has them work backward through Terraria's biomes. If players touch the top of the map, they'll be killed instantly, lending to this seed's name.

When players finally do reach the surface, they're in for a challenge, as it's completely covered in the Evil biome. Many weapons are obtained differently than normal, dropping earlier or later, and come with modified stats. Interestingly, it'll always be nighttime in Don't Dig Up seeds, and attempting to manually change the world to daytime won't do anything.

6 Get Fixed Boi

Seed: "get fixed boi" or "getfixedboi"

The Get Fixed Boi seed from Terraria

Also known as the Everything seed, the Get Fixed Boi seed combines aspects of many of Terraria's other secret seeds. Changes from the Drunk, Not The Bees, Celebrationmk10, The Constant, No Traps, Don't Dig Up and For The Worthy seeds all come together for one unique, challenging experience.

The surface is made up entirely of evil biomes, split between Corruption and Crimson. Pictured above, a glowing rainbow mushroom biome spawns right above the starting point. Get Fixed Boi also includes a unique boss called Mechdusa, which is a combination of three of Terraria's other bosses, being Skeletron Prime, The Twins, and The Destroyer.

5 Celebrationmk10

Seed: "Celebrationmk10", "05162011", "5162011", "05162021", or "5162021"

The 10 year celebration seed from Terraria

Released on May 16, 2021, the Celebrationmk10 seed celebrates Terraria's tenth anniversary. A bunch of NPCs spawn where the player does, and a party starts, giving everyone party hats as balloons stream in the air above. In opposition to some of Terraria's more challenging seeds, Celebrationmk10 makes changes to make Terraria a bit easier.

For one, all trees are replaced with their rarer variants. The benefits of both the Christmas and Halloween events are also always available. Finally, many of Terraria's bosses have been modified, making them smaller and thus easier to deal with.

4 Not The Bees

Seed: "not the bees", "notthebees" or "not the bees!"

The Not The Bees seed from Terraria

Similar to the No Traps seed, Not The Bees is another ironically named secret world seed for Terraria that does the opposite. Bees and bee-themed biomes and structures dominate this seed, and unlike normal Terraria spawn points, the player will always start in the Jungle.

Most blocks in this seed are replaced with either Honey or Cripsy Honey blocks, and almost all the water is honey instead. Instead of getting the Guide NPC to start, Not The Bees grants players immediate access to the Merchant, which is vital since many blocks that players would use for early resources don't spawn in this seed.

3 Drunk World

Seed: "05162020" or "5162020"

Generation screen for a Drunk World in Terraria

Terraria's Drunk World seed is perfect for those who want to experience as much as possible in one single world. For starters, both types of corruption will always spawn in Drunk world seeds, instead of being limited to one like normal. In situations where only one ore variant would spawn, both do, so players find both tin and copper together instead of just one.

Many other parts of Terraria's Drunk World seed have increased spawn rates, with rare spawns like Ocean Caves being guaranteed instead of a one-fourth chance. There are also twenty-seven additional music tracks, and players can toggle between these and the default tracks by speaking to the Party Girl while in a Drunk World.

2 The Constant

Seed: "constant", "theconstant", "the constant", "eye4aneye" or "eyeforaneye"

Unique shading in Terraria's The Constant world seed

Terraria's The Constant world seed is a crossover seed with the game Don't Starve Together. Uniquely, this is the only secret world seed to come with its own shaders, completely altering the look of Terraria as a whole. The Constant seed adds a Hunger system, with players able to die of hunger if they don't keep an eye on it.

Terraria's world becomes pitch-black at night in The Constant, save for Full and Blood Moons, severely limiting players' nighttime activities. There are also marble patches and spider caves that can spawn on the surface, and mimic the Marble Sculptures and Spider Dens from Don't Starve Together.

1 Enchanted Swords

Seed: "856272589"

An Enchanted Sword spawn in Terraria

There's a lot of great equipment in Terraria that takes a long time to obtain, but with the help of seeds, getting powerful items early becomes a guarantee. Reddit user DeusInfinito posted a terrific seed for newcomers, that grants immediate access to not only two Enchanted Swords but a Star Fury weapon as well.

Both the Star Fury and the Enchanted Sword are incredibly powerful weapons that help players trivialize much of Terraria's early content, without worrying about finding weapons as they play. Not only that, but this particular seed makes corruption spawn on the very edge of the world, making it easy for players to avoid the more ruthless, Evil biome.
