John Carptenter's Halloween is one of the most influential horror films ever made, inspiring a decade of slasher films and popularizing many tropes in the horror genre after its release in 1978. With its titular villain, Michael Myers, and instantly recognizable score, Halloween is certainly a slasher film for the ages. It preceded a long list of sequels and reboots, the latest of which, Halloween Ends, appears to have put the last nail in the original Michael Myers' coffin.
